    Q:
How do you remove and install the headlight bulb on Ford F-150? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the headlight housing. Rotate the headlight bulb retaining ring counterclockwise and pull out the bulb socket; to remove the headlight bulb from the housing, turn it counterclockwise and pull it out. For 2011 and later models, twist the headlight bulb a small amount counterclockwise to remove it, and similarly remove the park/turn bulb and the side marker light. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How do you replace a Headlight bulb and Headlight housing on 1993-2011 Ford Ranger? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace a bulb first, you have to open the hood. For early models, release the bulb retainer by turning counterclockwise at the back of the headlight then retract the bulb socket from the headlight housing. It is usually recommended that one should gently withdrawal the bulb ways from the socket without applying any twist on it and using hands to hold the glass part of the bulb. Place the terminal of the new bulb into the socket with the flat visible at the plastic based turned upward, align the locating tabs on the retaining socket over the notches on the headlight housing and secure this by applying pressure to force the socket's mounting flange to engage the housing. Place the retainer on and force it clockwise up to snug stage. As done in the later models, the headlight assembly should be unscrewed, the bulb socket should be rotated clockwise then you pull it out. When removing the bulb, one has to be very cautious and gentle to pull it out straight from the socket while the process of installation is vice versa. Once the bulb is replaced perform operation check of the entire headlight and close the car hood. Any alignment of the headlight should be checked and ought to be adjusted by a dealer service department or a service station at the earliest occasion. For removal of the housing and its installation in the early models first remove the bulb and the wiring of the housing followed by the removal of the clips that hold the housing in position as it is taken out from the grille opening panel. In latter models you should release the headlight housing retainers, pop out the headlight and remove the electrical connectors. Removal is the reverse of installation and it is advised to check the headlight alignment.

    Q:
How do I replace a headlight bulb on Ford Thunderbird? Posted by Customer
    A:
First of all, open the hood and disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Proceed to reach behind the headlight assembly and then unplug the electrical connector, employing a screwdriver to hold the clip out of the way. Also, you will be required to grasp the bulb holder and turn it counterclockwise to remove it. Lifting the holder assembly out is necessary to access the bulb. Push in and rotate bulb counterclockwise to remove it. To install it into your holder rotate it clockwise. Have your bulb holder installed in a headlight assembly.

    Q:
How to replace a Headlight Bulb on Ford Excursion? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace a halogen bulb of the aerodynamic type, turn the headlight bulb cover and pull it from the rear of the headlight housing onward and disconnect the electrical connector clips of the bulb holder. To remove the headlight bulb retaining ring conveniently, turn it anti-clockwise by 1/8 turn as seen at the rear of the housing and pull out the ring and the bulb from the housing. When fixing a new bulb always avoid contacting the surface of the glass part of the bulb, if you have to clean it with ethanol. Pull out the old bulb and then twist the new bulb without touching the glass into the socket and then replace it into the headlight housing by tightening the retaining ring which should be clockwise. Last but not the least, connect the electrical connectors, check the working of the headlight and finally shut the hood. In the case of the sealed beam type, begin by eradicating the parking light bulbs and assembly; thereafter, the headlight bezel can be detached by unfastening the upper and lower mounting screws. Subsequently, unscrew the headlight ring screws and pull the electrical connector back as well as out to pull out the headlight. Restoration is the complete opposite of elimination-reattach the headlight, put back the retaining ring, check the function of the headlight and shut the bonnet.

    Q:
How do you replace the headlight bulb with a separate halogen bulb on Ford Explorer Sport Trac? Posted by Customer
    A:
Such models are equipped with a headlight with a separate halogen bulb, the replacement of which is easy when it is burned out, while the housing is replaced only if it is damaged. First unfasten the negative terminal on the battery with a spanner; second, eliminate the electrical connection at the back of the headlight assembly. For headlight housings of the models manufactured after 1997, one has to loosen the headlight housing assembly by turning the four-arm ring a quarter and pulling the headlight housing off the base. Manipulate the bulb vertically without twisting and when replacing the bulb, ensure one doesn't touch the bulb with bare hands ensuring the flat side of the plastic base of the bulb is up. Bring the socket locating tabs into the corresponding slots in the plastic base and snap the socket into the base having the base mounting flange touching the socket. Insert the retaining ring and wiggle it clockwise until it locks into place against the stop; replace the headlight housing in 1997 and later models. Finally plug the electrical connector back in and check the operation of the headlight and have the adjust check and adjusted as soon as possible from a dealer service department or a service station.

How do you replace Fog Light Bulb on Ford F-150? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the bulbs that are present in the front parking light and turn signal, customers have to unbolt the headlight housing and disconnect the electrical connectors and with the help of counter clockwise motion, the bulb holder can be removed. Take out the old bulb by simply pulling it up and in to replace it put in the new one and push it all the way down till you can't anymore. For the front side marker light bulbs, the same process applies as with the processes outlined above to get to the bulb holder, turn it anti-clockwise to remove it and install a new bulb in the same way. Replacing fog light bulbs that are found in the lower part of the bumper cover does not require lifting the vehicle; the bulb socket can be loosened by turning it anticlockwise until it can be disconnected electricity connection, then a new bulb can be installed by reconnecting the electricity connection and then fixing the socket in place by turning it in a clockwise direction. As to the high-mount brake light bulbs: unscrew the retaining screws, and pull out the assembly; then, to replace a burnt-out bulb, turn the socket in a counter clockwise direction to remove it, take out the old bulb, and install a new one. To replace brake, taillight, turn signal and back-up light bulbs, remove the screws holding the taillight assembly and pull it straight out, pull the connectors apart and turn the sockets anti-clockwise to remove the bulbs, pull out the bulbs and insert new ones in their place. License plate light bulbs involve dismantling the assembly from the bumper; then you have to unplug the electrical connector before changing the bulb in the socket. Interior light bulbs can be replaced by unscrewing the instrument cluster and the protective cover whereby the bulb sockets for the illumination bulbs must be rotated anti-clockwise. Map reading light bulbs are located in the map reading light assembly and can be replaced by removing the trim piece and replacing the bulbs directly while the dome light bulbs can be replaced by prying off the lens of the dome light and making sure that the new bulb fits into the right place in the clips provided.
