To install the transmission back into the vehicle, follow these steps: 1. Ensure the torque converter hub is securely engaged in the pump. 2. Raise the transmission into position, align the torque converter studs with the driveplate holes, and carefully move the transmission forward until the dowel pins and torque converter are engaged. 3. Install the transmission to engine bolts and torque converter nuts. 4. Connect the transmission fluid cooler lines and install the transmission mount and crossmember bolts securely. 5. Remove the jacks supporting the transmission and engine, and install the dipstick tube and oil cooler line fittings. 6. Reinstall the starter motor, connect vacuum hoses if equipped, and connect the shift and TV linkage. 7. Plug in the transmission wire harness connectors and install the torque converter cover and driveshaft. 8. Connect the speedometer cable or speed sensor connector and adjust the shift linkage. 9. Reinstall any removed or disconnected exhaust system components, lower the vehicle, and fill the transmission with the specified fluid. 10. Run the engine and check for fluid leaks.

Support the transmission with a jack, preferably one made for this purpose, and use safety chains to steady the transmission.
