    Q:
How to change the transmission fluid and replace the filter on Ford F-250? Posted by Customer
    A:
At specified intervals, change transmission fluid and replace filter. No drain plug, remove transmission oil pan to drain fluid. Warm up vehicle, support on jackstands. Place drain pan under pan, remove bolts, lower pan to drain fluid. Inspect for metal particles. Remove filter/strainer, clean surfaces, replace with new gasket. Apply RTV sealant, position new gasket, reinstall pan, tighten bolts diagonally. Lower vehicle, add fluid gradually through dipstick tube, check level with dipstick, run engine through gears. Drive to reach normal temperature, park on level surface, check fluid level again, adjust as needed. Avoid overfilling.

    Q:
What steps are involved in removing the transmission pan for the 2008 Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer
    A:
With the drain pan in place, begin by removing the front and side transmission pan mounting bolts. For E40D transmission-equipped vehicles, you may need to disconnect the digital range sensor connector. Loosen the rear pan bolts approximately four turns. Carefully use a screwdriver to pry the transmission pan loose, allowing the fluid to drain. Ensure you don't damage the pan or transmission gasket surfaces, as this could lead to leaks. Finally, remove the remaining bolts, the pan, and the gasket.
