    Q:
How to remove and install a front hub and bearing assembly on a Lincoln MKX? Posted by Customer
    A:
2014 and earlier models require special tools and expertise to press the hub and bearing from the steering knuckle, this job should be left to a professional mechanic. However, the steering knuckle and hub may be removed and the assembly taken to an automotive machine shop or other qualified repair facility equipped with the necessary tools. For 2015 and later models, caution is advised as the manufacturer recommends to replace all removed suspension component fasteners (nuts and bolts) with new ones. Apply the parking brake, loosen the wheel lug nuts and raise the front of the vehicle. Support it securely on jack stands and remove the wheel. Remove the brake disc. Remove the hub dust cap and nut, then push the drive axle through the hub splines as the hub and bearing assembly is removed. Be careful not to over extend the inner CV joint. Once the hub has been removed, support the outer end of the drive axle with a length of wire or rope. Remove the four bolts securing the hub assembly to the steering knuckle, then remove the hub and bearing assembly. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace all suspension fasteners that were removed with new fasteners and tighten them to the values listed in the Specifications. Install the wheels, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel lug nuts to the torque listed in the Specifications.

    Q:
What are the steps for installing components in the 2007 Ford Edge? Posted by Customer
    A:
For 2010 and earlier models, install the wheel hub/bearing assembly onto the wheel knuckle, place the drive axle back through the knuckle into the hub, and loosely install new bolts and nuts into the lower arm, toe link, and lower shock mount. Raise the suspension with the floor jack if needed to align and install the upper arm bolt. Adjust the jack height to achieve the initial ride height measurement and torque the upper arm nut. Tighten the lower arm bolt, toe link bolt, and shock absorber lower nut to their specified torque. Reattach the stabilizer bar link and tighten the nut. Install the brake hose bracket, wheel speed sensor, brake disc, and brake caliper assembly. For all-wheel-drive models, secure the drive axle using the old wheel hub nut, then replace with new nuts and torque to specification.

    Q:
What steps should be followed to remove the hub and bearing assembly for the 2018 Ford Edge? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, apply the parking brake and loosen the wheel lug nuts. Then, raise the front of the vehicle and securely support it on jack stands. Remove the wheel and brake disc. Next, remove the hub dust cap and nut, and push the drive axle through the hub splines while removing the hub and bearing assembly. Care should be taken not to overextend the inner CV joint. Finally, support the outer end of the drive axle with a length of wire or rope.

    Q:
Why is timely tightening of the wheel hub nuts important for the 2007 Lincoln MKX? Posted by Customer
    A:
Timely tightening of wheel hub nuts is crucial for all-wheel-drive models due to the one-use locking chemical that activates during tightening. If not tightened within a specified time frame, the locking chemical may not activate properly.
