If the mount is okay, remove the jackstands and lower the vehicle.

During the check, the engine must be raised slightly to remove the weight from the mounts.

For early 4WO models, remove the lower insulator retainers and insulators, then remove the insulator bolts. Place a jack under the transmission and raise it enough to remove the upper insulators between the transmission bracket and crossmember. Install new upper insulators with the protruding shoulder facing down through the crossmember. Lower the transmission and install the insulator bolts, tightening the lower insulator retainer assemblies to the specified torque. Remove the jackstands and lower the vehicle, then test drive to confirm proper operation.

Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then position the jack under the engine oil pan. Place a large block of wood between the jack head and the oil pan, then carefully raise the engine just enough to take the weight off the mounts.
