For models made in 1995 or earlier, siphon the remaining fuel from the tank, release pressure from the pump, disconnect the battery, lift the vehicle securely, unplug all fuel lines and electrical connectors, rotate the lock ring anti-clockwise, take out pump assembly then clean strainer before reinstalling it with a new seal ring.
