The installation process is a reversal of the removal process, ensuring that all the relevant bolts are tightened to their specified torque.

During reassembly, note the following points: a) Ensure that the coil spring ends are correctly located in the upper and lower seats before releasing the compressor. b) Check that the bearing is correctly installed on the piston rod seat. c) Tighten the thrust bearing retaining nut to the specified torque. d) The coil springs must be installed with the paint mark at the bottom.

Look for grease around the CV joint boot area.

5. Chock the front wheels, jack up the rear of the vehicle, and support it on axle stands. Remove the wheels as required. 6. On the left-hand shock absorber, release the exhaust from the rubber hanger, then undo the rear exhaust muffler heat shield bolts and remove it to access the upper shock mounting nut. 7. Place a jack under the lower suspension arm/coil spring for support. Unscrew and remove the upper mounting bolt, then the lower mounting bolt. Withdraw the shock absorber from under the vehicle.
