To assess the condition of shock absorbers, follow these steps: Park the vehicle on level ground, turn off the engine, and set the parking brake. Check tire pressures to ensure they are at the recommended levels. Push down on each corner of the vehicle and observe its movement and rebound. Properly functioning shock absorbers should bring the vehicle to a rest in a level position within one or two bounces. Repeat this check for all four corners of the vehicle.
