    Q:
What is the caution and how to remove and install the brake switch on Lincoln MKX? Posted by Customer
    A:
Never press or pull the brake pedal off when removing or installing a brake switch as it may affect their adjustment. This will then dislocate it and destroy the switch. Firstly, remove the electrical connector from the switch by detaching the electrical connector and rotating the switch 45 degrees clockwise. Then, remove it by turning it clockwise. The process of installing is just like taking them away.

    Q:
What is the function and location of the brake light switch on Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer
    A:
The brake light switch is known as the brake on-off (BOO) switch. It activates the rear brake lights when the brake pedal is pressed. This is located on top of the brake pedal near where it connects with a rod that sticks out of some sort of thing called a "power brake booster". Take off this black panel under your steering wheel so you can see this switch better. When you release the brake pedal, this switch will open up allowing electricity to flow through it again turning off those red bulbs in the back of your car. However, if you push down on this metal bar sticking out from below your steering wheel while holding down firmly against something like a concrete floor or grassy meadow then it should go back into its normal position which will close off current going towards these hazardous objects we call tail lamps.
