Q: What is the function and location of the brake light switch on Ford Expedition?
A: The brake light switch is known as the brake on-off (BOO) switch. It activates the rear brake lights when the brake pedal is pressed. This is located on top of the brake pedal near where it connects with a rod that sticks out of some sort of thing called a "power brake booster". Take off this black panel under your steering wheel so you can see this switch better. When you release the brake pedal, this switch will open up allowing electricity to flow through it again turning off those red bulbs in the back of your car. However, if you push down on this metal bar sticking out from below your steering wheel while holding down firmly against something like a concrete floor or grassy meadow then it should go back into its normal position which will close off current going towards these hazardous objects we call tail lamps.
