To remove the detachable shaft type headlight switch, reach under the dash and press the release button on the bottom of the switch, then withdraw the knob and shaft from the switch. Remove the instrument cluster bezel, the retaining nut, and lower the switch and bracket. Disconnect the electrical connector and separate the switch from the bracket. Unscrew the retaining collar, push the switch back through the dash, lower the switch, cut the tie strap, and disconnect the electrical connector to separate the switch from the bracket. Place the new switch in position on the bracket and secure it with the nut. Insert the knob and shaft into the switch. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal.
