    Q:
How to remove and install Turn Signal Switch on a Lincoln Continental? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. For 1989 and earlier models, grasp the switch lever securely and remove it by pulling straight out. Remove the steering column covers. Remove the switch cover, then disconnect the connector, remove the retaining screws and withdraw the Turn Signal Switch assembly from the steering column. Place the switch in position and install the screws, then connect the electrical connector. Install the steering column covers. Line up the tangs on the lever with the slot in the switch and install it by pushing straight in. For 1990 and later models, remove the steering column covers. On most models, the ignition lock cylinder must be removed first, and on models with tilt-column steering, the tilt lever must also be removed before removing the covers. Remove the two retaining screws, pull the switch out, disconnect the connector and detach the Turn Signal Switch assembly from the steering column. Connect the electrical connector, insert the switch into the steering column and install the screws. Install the steering column covers, lock cylinder and tilt lever if equipped. For all models, connect the cable to the negative battery terminal.

    Q:
How to replace the hazard and turn signal switches on Lincoln Continental? Posted by Customer
    A:
The hazard and turn signal switches on earlier models are part of the turn signal switch hub assembly while in later models they are integrated into the multi-function switch. Disconnect the battery cable to replace the turn signal and hazard switch. Lower the cover, and remove the steering wheel. At the harness connectors, disconnect the wires from the switches. Remove the hazard switch by lifting it after unscrewing a retaining screw. Unscrew a turn signal handle, lift out this switch after removing retaining screws. Pull wires through the hub, remove the plastic cover, remove the assembly. Insert new switch wires through the hub and connect them to the connector. For complete installation reverse removal steps.
