After installing a new brake line, check that it's securely supported in the brackets and has plenty of clearance between moving or hot components. Check the master cylinder fluid level and add fluid as necessary. Bleed the brake system and test the brakes carefully before driving the vehicle in traffic. This ensures the proper functioning and safety of the brake system after the replacement.

Remove the rear brake drums and note the thickness of the lining material, looking for signs of contamination by brake fluid or grease.

Steel tubing is used throughout the brake system, with flexible, reinforced hoses at the front wheels and as connectors at the rear axle.

Any signs of cracks, chafing, leaks, blisters, or other damage on a brake hose warrant its replacement. To replace the hose, use a flare nut wrench to disconnect the brake line from the hose fitting. Carefully remove the hose, ensuring the frame bracket and brake line aren't bent. Replace the large retaining clip, connect the hose to the caliper using new sealing washers, and tighten the banjo bolt. Connect the other end to the chassis bracket, ensuring a secure fit.
