Install the new bulb using a reversal of the removal procedure and have the headlight beam alignment checked.

Remove the splash shield below the radiator.

1. Remove the protective cover (Typical protective rubber cover (2006 through 2009 model shown; 2010 models similar)). 2. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise and pull it out (To remove the high-beam headlight bulb, turn it counterclockwise and pull it out). Note: The electrical connector cannot be disconnected from the bulb until the bulb is removed. 3. Disengage the bulb clips from the electrical connector (To disconnect the high-beam bulb from the electrical connector, spread these locking tabs apart and pull off the bulb) and remove the bulb.

Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to rotate the bulb holder clockwise in the headlight housing until it stops. Caution: Make sure that you don't touch the surface of the bulb during installation.

Carefully pull the bulb straight out of the socket.

Align the socket locating tabs with the notches in the headlight housing, then push the socket firmly into the housing, ensuring the socket mounting flange contacts the housing.

Pull it straight out.

Remove the bulb access cover from the back of the headlight.

Disconnect the electrical connector, then rotate the bulb counterclockwise and pull it out of the housing.

Remove the assembly by pulling it to the rear, disengaging the locator pins, and then rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it. Replace the bulb by pulling it straight out and pushing the new one in. Reassemble the assembly.

Remove the rubber boot from the headlight assembly.

Some models use High Intensity Discharge (HID) bulbs instead of conventional halogen bulbs. According to the manufacturer, the high voltages produced by this system can be fatal in the event of a shock. Also, the voltage can remain in the circuit even after the headlight switch has been turned to OFF and the ignition key has been removed.

Make sure that the headlight switch and the ignition switch are both turned off, then open the hood. Disconnect the wiring from the headlight bulb. Twist the bulb counterclockwise, then remove it.

Remove the headlight housing.

Carefully pry the lens from the light assembly and replace the bulb by pulling it out. Reinstall following the reverse procedure.

1. Using a trim removal tool, remove the map reading light trim piece from the overhead console. 2. Remove the bulb from the reading light assembly by rotating it counterclockwise and pulling it out. To install a new bulb, insert it into its mounting hole and turn it clockwise until it stops. 3. Install a new bulb in the reading light assembly. 4. Installation is the reverse of removal.
