    Q:
How do you remove and install the ignition coil on Ford Taurus? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. On four-cylinder models, remove the air filter outlet duct, then take out the EVAP canister purge valve fastener. Carefully move the EVAP canister purge valve out of the way without damaging any hoses. For V6 models, remove the upper intake manifold to access the rear bank ignition coils. If needed for access to the front bank coils, disconnect the crankcase vent tube. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil and remove the mounting fastener(s) from the ignition coil. During the next action, twist the coil left and right to break the boot free of the spark plug. Grasp the coil firmly and pull it off the spark plug, twisting while pulling to assist in removal. Installation is the reverse of removal, and it is advisable to place a small amount of dielectric grease on the inside of the coil boot before installation.
