Remove the assembly by taking out the mounting screws and washers, disconnect the electrical connector, and place the assembly on a workbench. Separate the bulb holder assembly from the lens and replace the bulb by pulling it straight out and pushing the new one in. Reassemble and use new mounting screws and washers if recommended by the manufacturer.

The instrument cluster and trim panel need to be removed in order to access the instrument panel bulbs. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Once the instrument cluster is removed, take out the two screws holding the lower access panel to reach the cluster bulbs. To get to the instrument cluster indicator bulbs, remove the clutch trim panel.

How do I replace a headlight bulb on Ford Thunderbird? Posted by Customer
A:
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and open the hood. Reach behind the headlight assembly and unplug the electrical connector, using a screwdriver to hold the clip out of the way. Grasp the bulb holder and turn it counterclockwise to remove it. Lift the holder assembly out for access to the bulb. Push in and rotate the bulb counterclockwise to remove it. Insert the new bulb into the holder and rotate it clockwise to seat it in the holder. Finally, install the bulb holder in the headlight assembly.
