- A:Loosen the air cleaner outlet tube clamp. Unfasten the cover clips and lift the cover off. Lift out the filter. Wipe the inside of the air cleaner housing with a clean cloth. Place the new air filter in the housing. If the filter is marked TOP, be sure the top side faces up. Reinstall the cover and secure the clips.
