    Q:
How to remove and install a wiper motor in a Lincoln Town Car? Posted by Customer
    A:
Detach the cable from the negative battery terminal. In 1979 and earlier models, unfasten wiper arms on pivot shafts. For left (driver) side cowl screen removal to reach motor drive arm linkage. Take off retaining clip and disconnect drive arm from wiper linkage. Separate electrical connectors, unbolt it and slide out of position. Swivel it while pulling up so the firewall opening will not obstruct wiper drive arm. Once you are satisfied that the wiper motor drive arm is in its parked position, do the reverse of taking out for installation purpose. On 1980 and later models, remove the rear hood seal as well as the cover for wiper motor housing. Remove components after removing rear hood seal weatherstripping by taking a screwdriver under each of them on both sides of wiper housing. Cowl covers must be removed first with models manufactured in 1998 and beyond. Wiper motor retaining bolts must be removed. Should also remove clip from motor to disconnect wipper linkange driver arm from motor's hole too.Wiggle a small screwdriver into the back part of this clip; this causes it to fall off allowing detachment of arm from engine.Pull out connector coming out of an electrical battery; now raise two other points at which you can get hold of axle connected to pulley surrounding rotationally mountable wiping device.Unit is returned or replaced as previously done during detaching; something like this is then reversed upon being fixed again. Also, take out that rear hood seal then break that cover for housing fitted over such a device mounted there.Remove those parts which should only involve getting rid of strips running along respective rails situated outside casing around entire rubber sealing material.Simply start by removing cowling covers just like when talking about cars' bonnets. This is why we have made sure that our car has been reasonably parked before attempting anything because doing so would put us at risk of getting into an accident.Installation is the opposite of removal.
