Reinstall the caliper and tighten the caliper bolts to the specified torque. Firmly depress the brake pedal a few times to bring the pads into contact with the disc and check the brake fluid level. For 1998 and later models with two-piston front calipers, follow specific pad replacement advice. For rear disc brake pads, depress the caliper piston, remove the old pads, and install the new ones, making sure they are fully seated. Finally, reinstall the caliper and tighten the caliper bolts to the specified torque.

Apply thread locking compound to the caliper bolt threads and grease to the sliding-surface portion of the caliper bolts. On some models, hang the caliper from the upper control arm with a wire. Tighten the caliper bolts securely, depress the brake pedal to bring the pads into contact with the disc, check the brake fluid level, and top it off if needed.
