To disassemble the door latch striker stud from the door jamb screws the use a Torx bit, and in assembling the same procedure should be followed but while tightening the screws adjustments may be made. The door latch striker is adjustable vertically and laterally-and fore and aft, though it should not be used to correct a misaligned door. Shimming may be used to adjust the space between the latch and the striker but may not exceed one shim on the door. To investigate the clearance one has to apply a coat of dark grease on the striker and then open and close the door noting the kind of impressions that are left on the grease. Slide the door striker assembly in the lateral direction so that it aligns with the door and the pillar or the quarter panel; preferably you should tighten the door latch striker firmly when you are through making adjustments.

Securely tighten the door latch striker after adjustment is complete.
