Ford Bronco Brake Pads Parts Questions & Answers

    • Q: How do you replace the brake pad?
A: To remove the Brake Caliper, first remove some brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels, chock the rear wheels, set the parking brake, and raise the front of the vehicle. Remove the wheels and use a C-clamp to push the caliper piston back. Remove the bolt and key, squeeze the tab and pry out the pin, or remove the mounting bolts. Suspend the caliper with wire. To replace, remove the inner pad and anti-rattle clip, detach the outer pad, and retract the caliper piston. Clean the caliper and pads and install the new pads. To reinstall, simply switch the removal steps going from the final step to the beginning step. Finally, install the wheels, lower the vehicle, tighten the lug nuts, and press the Brake Pedal several times to seat the brake pads.
