Ford Bronco II Distributor

The Distributor of Ford Bronco II vehicles involved in controlling the fire process through appropriate fire sequence by supplying the high voltage current from ignition coil to spark plugs. In the past, the distributor used breaker points and a rotating arm for spark timing with centrifugal and vacuum advances. But now, with the developments in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, the electronic triggering systems have been implemented to guarantee higher effectiveness and require less attention to be paid to them as to their maintenance. Changes in the distributor involve shifts in the distributor design, as the mechanical system of the Bronco II was replaced by electronic ignition systems since they are not affected by the breaker points hence do not wear out. Many of these modern distributors incorporate Hall Effect sensors and can be fitted with double points or custom advance curve mapping for higher performance and economy. While new models of vehicle manufacture keep coming up in the marketplace with advanced technology, the conventional distributors have not been relied upon as in the past as vehicles are now adopting coil-on-plug systems that bring about enhancements to ignition processes.

We provide a wide range of Ford Bronco II Distributor at the best prices possible. If you need Ford Bronco II Distributor, you can shop with confidence on our website. All our OEM parts come with a manufacturer's warranty and are delivered to your door step with a fast delivery service.

Ford Bronco II Distributor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install Distributor on Ford Bronco II?
A: Different model years of the TFI-IV Ignition system require different test procedures. For 1985-87 models, begin by turning the ignition switch off and disconnecting the coil wire; then, ground it. After that, put the negative lead of a volt/ohmmeter to the distributor base and disconnect the pin-in-line connector near it, attaching the positive lead of this device to its TFI module side. Once you turn on your ignition switch and bump starter to measure voltage levels with engine stationary (if lower-replace stator assembly), proceed as follows: for 1988 models do similar steps but adjust voltage thresholds-if highest reading exceeds 70% battery voltage or else replace stator assembly; if lowest value is greater than 0.5 volts inspect stator and TFI terminals; in 1989-90 models use special Rotunda tester tool for TFI modules, ensuring park position (AT) or neutral gear (MT) with wheels blocked-then proceed according to subsequent instructions. Removal / installation involves rotating engine to TDC position-disconnecting negative battery cable-carefully removing distributor assembly (making sure not rotate engine during removal). Installation includes aligning distributor correctly & checking initial timing before completing installation process.
