First disconnect the negative battery cable. Then unmount the air cleaner duct from the throttle body and housing on 2001 and later models. Take out the coolant through the cooling system and keep the good fluid. Release the fixed clamps holding the hoses, detach them from the radiator, and use pliers to get past a stuck seal. Pull the reservoir hose off from the opening where you fill the radiator. Unbolt the fan shroud from the radiator, take the shroud near the engine, and let it rest without touching the fan. Take out the fan, clutch, and shroud all together. To take the lines off the radiator if you have an automatic transmission, catch any spilled fluid while removing them. Be sure to plug the two cooling lines first to avoid danger, then unscrew and take out the radiator screws, and then remove any 5.0L V8 model's plastic fasteners. When you take out the radiator, do it carefully to avoid spilling or damaging it. Check for holes and breaks in your radiator, then dry it with tube air and a soft brush while keeping fan blades straight. During installation, make sure your radiator mounting points are in good shape and not clogged. Follow these same steps in reverse order, complete the cooling system again by mixing water and antifreeze now that you installed the part. Start up the engine, look for new leaks, let it reach usual running heat, then check the coolant again and top it off if low. Check and top up transmission fluid in vehicles with automatic transmission when needed.
