How do you remove and install a Support strut on Ford Focus?

Have an assistant support the liftgate, trunk lid, or hood in its open position. Pry off the upper spring clip securing the Lift Support to the liftgate, trunk lid, or hood, then pull the socket from the ball-stud using a thin screwdriver to release the securing clip before pulling the Lift Support off the ball-stud. Similarly, pry off the bottom clip and pull the socket from the ball stud to withdraw the Lift Support. Installation is a reversal of the removal procedure, ensuring that the Lift Support is installed the same way up as it was removed.
