Q: How do you remove and install the tie-rod end on Ford Taurus?
A: Start by loosening the front wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the wheel and hold the tie-rod while loosening the jam nut. Mark the tie-rod end position, remove the nut on the tie-rod end stud and disconnect it from the steering knuckle arm. Use a puller if it sticks. Unscrew the tie-rod end from the tie-rod. To install, thread the tie-rod end back onto the marked position and insert the stud into the arm. Tighten the nut and jam nut. Reinstall the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts. Check and adjust wheel alignment if needed.
