Lift the front of your car with jackstands, undo three nuts from the right front wheel, and put the car's weight on the stands. A helper should apply pressure to the brake pedal while you unscrew just the right hub nut connecting the axle and hub. Pull off all necessary parts around the right hub - take out the right wheel, engine shield, and any splash guards. Before removing, mark where the driveshaft and output shaft meet. Use your hands to undo the front of the driveshaft and loop it up with wire from a firm central support point to keep it from dropping. Take out the right driveaxle, the intermediate shaft, and the right-side catalytic converter, when needed. Before moving on, generate a transfer case replacement calculations list. First remove both fasteners that hold the roll-restrictor mount. Next, undo each of the two bolts that secure the transfer case to its support bracket. Then, take off the three bolts that anchor the support bracket directly to the engine block. Carefully lift the transfer case with a floor jack. On the right side, take out each of the three bolts holding it to the transaxle. When done, repeat this on the left side using two remaining mounting bolts. You can take out the transfer case from your car by moving its output flange up, turning it while yanking it out of the transaxle. Do the opposite of what you did to take it out. Make sure you get a fresh seal to go inside the transfer case before installing. Also tighten the new driveshaft and transfer case bolts to their correct torques, fill the transfer case with the proper lubricant, and tighten the wheel nuts to the correct torque.
