How to remove the evaporator core in Lincoln Town Car?

To remove the evaporator core in 1970-1981 Continental and 1970-1983 Mark series, have the AC system discharged professionally, disconnect the battery, remove the expansion valve, suction throttling valve, and liquid line support bracket. Remove the cover flange screws and left cover half to expose the evaporator core. Separate the core from the right cover half for repair or replacement. For 1982-1987 Continental and 1984-1992 Mark series, and 1981 and later Town Car models, the process requires removing the instrument panel to access the heater assembly. After professional AC system discharge and battery disconnection, drain the cooling system, remove the instrument panel, disconnect the refrigerant lines and heater hoses. Replace the accumulator/drier when replacing the evaporator core.
