How do you remove the water pump on Ford Edge? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, removing the engine cover, and draining the cooling system. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts and remove the drivebelt. For four-cylinder models, remove the right front wheel and inner fender splash shield. Remove the water pump pulley and bolts. If stuck, tap the water pump gently. Clean the bolt threads and remove corrosion and sealant. For V6 models, remove the pump mounting bolts. For 2.7L engines, remove the right front engine mount and bracket, and the thermostat. Disconnect the coolant hose and remove the water pump mounting bolts. Remove the pump gasket. Compare the new pump to the old one, apply RTV sealant to hold the new gasket, and install the water pump bolts. For 2.7L V6 models, clean the mating surface on the front cover and install a new grommet and O-ring gasket. Install the water pump and tighten the bolts. Refill and bleed the cooling system, then check for leaks.
