    To remove the front coil spring, raise the vehicle and remove the wheel, shock absorber, stabilizer bar, and coil spring. The lower control arm is disconnected from the steering knuckle by removing the ball joint stud nut and cotter pin. For installation, the control arm is raised, the spring is guided into position, and the control arm pivot bolts and nuts are installed.

    Remove the cotter pin from the upper balljoint stud and loosen the stud nut slightly. Place a floor jack under the lower control arm and raise it slightly. Tap the steering knuckle near the upper balljoint stud with a hammer to loosen it. Use a balljoint stud separator if needed (note that this may damage the balljoint boot). Remove the nut from the upper balljoint stud and the upper control arm pivot shaft attaching bolts. Remove the upper control arm and pivot shaft as an assembly.
