There is a combined timer relay at the rear of the primary fuse-box which operates the heated rear window, rear luminaries, and arranged wiper operation; it also triggers an alarm bleep in case the lights are left ignited or an automatic transmission car is poorly parked. The auxiliary fuse box is located on the right hand side of the firewall in the engine compartment behind the air cleaner which one has to open to access and there are few relays too. The circuits are numbered on the main fusebox: and on the inner lid of the auxiliary fusebox there are writings and wiring diagrams showing the circuits covered by the corresponding fuse. To check the fuses you must use a test light, if the light begins to glow from the exposed terminal ends, that fuse is bad, in addition the element between the terminals gives it away. Never use a higher capacity fuse or a piece of wire to patch up a fuse; this can cause significant harm or fire; it's printed on the top of a fuse. This is in addition to a 'battery saver' relay for the central fusebox in the event that the car is to be off the road for a long time. Some of the parts such as relays might be electrically operated switches used in certain circuits; these can be removed by simply pulling them from their sockets and some are fitted with a plastic bar which makes them easier to pull using the tweezers. When a relay-controlled component becomes a problem, listen closely when the circuit is turned on; if the relay makes a clicking sound, the relay is okay; the problem is elsewhere. If the relay does not energize, it may be because the relay is not getting switching voltage or is dead and the testing can be done by swapping the suspected relay with a known good relay, though different relays looking alike may do different things.
