Ford Bronco A/C Accumulator

A/C Accumulator is a very important component of the Ford Bronco automobiles when it comes to the air conditioning system, not only does it enhance the performance but also, within the same measure, gives longevity to the device. Its main purpose is to remove dirt and redundant moisture so as to protect the underneath components of the A/C system. This part of the cylinder consists of orifices for the refrigerant flow from the condenser and the expansion valve together with a filtering system. Computer analysis shows that several types of A/C Accumulator could have possibly been used in the course of time on the different Bronco models, although certain designs do not specify. The principal difference is often in appearance changes that help to improve efficiency or compatibility with certain A/C systems. All in all, the A/C Receiver Drier is useful for efficiency and longevity of the vehicle's A/C system.

Ford Bronco A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install an air conditioning accumulator on Ford Bronco?
A: Have the air conditioning system discharged. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Unplug the electrical connector from the pressure switch near the top of the accumulator. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the accumulator using two wrenches to prevent component damage. Cap the lines to prevent contamination. Remove the screws securing the accumulator to the evaporator case and remove the accumulator. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace all O-rings with new ones specifically designed for air conditioning system use and lubricate them with refrigerant oil. Take the vehicle to the shop that discharged it and have the system evacuated and recharged.
