Q: How to remove and install an air conditioning accumulator on Ford Bronco?
A: Have the air conditioning system discharged. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Unplug the electrical connector from the pressure switch near the top of the accumulator. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the accumulator using two wrenches to prevent component damage. Cap the lines to prevent contamination. Remove the screws securing the accumulator to the evaporator case and remove the accumulator. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace all O-rings with new ones specifically designed for air conditioning system use and lubricate them with refrigerant oil. Take the vehicle to the shop that discharged it and have the system evacuated and recharged.
