Ford Bronco II Ball Joint

The Ball Joint in Ford Bronco II cars is essential in the suspension and steering systems since it links the control arms with the steering knuckles. This aspect enables it to rotate in several directions making the vehicle to be able to maneuver in relation to the road conditions and to the steering command. Originally made of steel, the Ford Bronco II Ball Joint comes with a bearing stud and socket, covered by rubber boot to keep off dirt and to contain lubricant. In case of Ford Bronco II vehicles, it is quite possible to find Loaded as well as Unloaded Ball Joints. Apart from this, there are Loaded Ball Joints which takes the weight of the vehicle and the unloaded Ball Joints which only helps in keeping the vehicle in an aligned position without taking the weight of the vehicle. After some time and with constant use and little or no lubrication it develops problems including noise and improper wearing of tires hence needs replacement. Ball Joints are other configurable performance parts for modified suspensions because they provide the premier turn and handling capabilities for the Ford Bronco II.

We provide a wide range of Ford Bronco II Ball Joint at the best prices possible. If you need Ford Bronco II Ball Joint, you can shop with confidence on our website. All our OEM parts come with a manufacturer's warranty and are delivered to your door step with a fast delivery service.

Ford Bronco II Ball Joint Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to inspect, remove, and install a upper ball joint on Ford Bronco II?
A: Check and adjust the front wheel bearings by raising the vehicle and positioning a jack stand under the I-beam axle beneath the coil spring. Have a helper grasp the lower edge of the tire and move the wheel assembly in and out while observing the upper spindle arm and the upper part of the axle jaw. A movement of 1/32 in. (0.8mm) or greater between the upper part of the axle jaw and the upper spindle arm indicates that the upper ball joint must be replaced. To remove and install, raise and support the vehicle safely with jack stands, then remove the spindle and the ball joint assembly. Take off the snap ring from the ball joint and use a ball joint removal tool to detach the ball joint from the spindle, avoiding any heating of the ball joint or axle. Installation follows the reverse of the removal procedure, ensuring the ball joint stud nut is torqued to 85-110 ft. lbs. for 1983-89 Ranger and Bronco II models.
