Ford Excursion Oil Pan

An Oil Pan is a container, which is designed in Ford Excursion to store the engine oil and provide proper cooling to some of the fricative components of the vehicle. As a wet sump oil reservoir, the Oil Pan receives the oil that is sucked by the pickup tube and drawn in by the oil pump before it circulates the engine and falls back into the oil pan. This design ensures constant supply of oil which is needed for maximum performance of the engine. In the past Ford Excursion Oil Pans were mostly made from stamped steel but now with increasing modernity, most engines use cast aluminum. This evolution brings improvement in the tough and the efficiency of the materials used. The positioning of the engine is also well considered in the design of the Oil Pan to keep oil intact and easily accessible during dynamic operations.

We provide a wide range of Ford Excursion Oil Pan at the best prices possible. If you need Ford Excursion Oil Pan, you can shop with confidence on our website. All our OEM parts come with a manufacturer's warranty and are delivered to your door step with a fast delivery service.

Ford Excursion Oil Pan Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install Oil Pan in gasoline engine on Ford Excursion?
A: Before lifting the engine, the negative terminal of the battery should be disconnected and the engine oil and coolant drained together with other parts including the upper radiator hose, air cleaner, air intake duct, engine cooling fan, shroud, alternator and throttle body to mention but a few that may hinder the upward removal of the engine. Lift the Vehicle properly with jackstands, remove the exhaust 'Y' connection, uninstall any Transmission cooler line brackets in the automatic modular variants and unbolt the flywheel or the driveplate access cover. Take out the driveshaft; in case of 4WD, disengage the terminal end of the front driveshaft from the case of the transfer. The front Engine Mounts and the transmission mount have to be unbolted and using an engine hoist, lift the engine without the Intake Manifold coming in contact with the cowl. Once the engine has been supported, remove the rear transmission mount and jack up the rear of the transmission but you have to be very careful when doing this so as to avoid damaging any part of the transmission. The bolts should be loosed in reverse sequence with which they were tightened and the oil pan detached from the block using a rubber mallet or small piece of wood, and yet other bolts that holds the pick-up tube so that it can fall inside the pan to free itself. To install new gasket, clean all surfaces of the old gasket material and sealant, apply RTV as required at different junctions, place new gasket on the flange of the oil pan, lift the pan into position, fix the pick up tube in place and tighten bolt to the required torque. Last of all, make the other steps inversely to the removal, then replace the engine oil and verify whether there is any leakage after using the automobile, starting the engine, and driving it.
