Q: Where is the air filter located and how do you remove and replace it on Ford Mustang?
A: On the left side of the motor compartment is a housing where an air filter can be found. The tabs holding the housing must be released and then its cover raised to take off the filter. Look at the outside part of the filter. If it is dirty, change it. If it is somewhat dusty, use compressed air to clean it out. You should not wash or oil it. In case cleaning is not effective, throw away and put in its place another one. Be careful that nothing falls into it. Always have an air cleaner on your engine to prevent wear and fire hazards while driving. Finally, put in a new filter in position and install the housing cover back again correctly.
